Motorcyclists like to set themselves apart
from the Yosemite-or-bust pylons nosing single-mindedly up to
the popular national park. And what better way to make that
statement than to grab your chance to turn off the straight line
of Hwy 41 between Fresno and Oakhurst onto this inviting bypass
route. Escaping the traffic would be reason in and of itself to
take this detour. But this road offers far more than deliverance
from the alphabet of RVs, SUVs and STCs. You’ll enjoy mellow
curves, no-surprise Engineering and average-to-good Pavement all
the way from the DH’s southern junction till the shoreline of
Bass Lake. Here, the heavy trees and shimmering water of the
Sierra National Forest’s Bass Lake Recreation Area form a
backdrop for a perfect synthesis of winding curves and black
asphalt. At the route’s northern end, just turn right and you’re
back on the road to… where we going again?
