Irritable Male Syndrome is caused by drops in testosterone. Far more serious, because it affects riders of both sexes, is Irritable Motorcyclist Syndrome – the sudden decrease in twistosterone caused by excessive exposure to speed tax collectors. And sadly, because this road is used as a training run by the CHiP motorcycle corps, you can get posses of latter-day Ponchs and Jons damping down your hormones here in a big way. And that's a shame, since this quadripartite DH has some of the best TIRES variety in NorCal. After escaping Fresnoland through the rolling, lower foothills of the Sierra Nevada, a high-speed, major-highway-like howl sweeps you up Big Sandy Bluff to cooler climes. From Pine Ridge to Shaver Lake, you get a Pavement and Engineering-challenged, tight-and-twisty romp through the thick of the Sierra National Forest. Once you are round Shaver Lake, Remoteness soars as the road stretches out and climbs into the Sierra Nevada approaches before ending at Huntington Lake. Sound good? It is – as long as you pick a good time to ride it. Problem is, since this road is also heavily patrolled by CHiP black and whites and monitored from the air, you really don't have a fricking clue when that might be. And that’s really irritating.
