This road is impossible to resist. Silky
smooth Pavement, sweet Engineering, gaga Scenery and an
unforgettable body of curves. The only rub on Hwy 253 is that
when it comes to Character, it’s a little “length challenged,”
shall we say. But, after all, it’s not what you got it’s how you
use it. After teasing you through the pretty vineyards south of
Ukiah, this beauty wiggles its overachieving asphalt up and over
Pine Ridge, writhing in a passionate series of desperate, almost
unceasing esses. As if that’s not stimulating enough, it
caresses your eyeballs at the same time with remote mountain and
valley views. And being a relatively minor highway, chances are
you’ll get to enjoy its pleasures without a drove of geeky
pylons trying to cut in on your action. So go ahead and hook up.
